WE ARE ONE PEOPLE WITH ONE GOD

MISSION:  Our mission is to bring people of all faiths together to help us understand and respect each other, find our common beliefs and values, and learn to be who God intended us to be.   It involves working on a bridge of understanding between us as well as working on ourselves.  Our hope is to connect and build on our similarities.

WHO ARE WE?

In Our House of Abraham, you are free to express your faith in any way you choose; please also accept the Other’s expression of his or her faith.  Our expression of faith, our “religion” is personal to us, but it need not divide us.  God did not intend that there be as many “religions” as there are people in the world.  That is the end result of belief systems dividing over and over again.  WE ARE ONE PEOPLE WITH ONE GOD.

The goals of Our House of Abraham are:

1.        To join with the “Other.”

2.        To be inclusive.

3.        To worship one God.

4.        To be who God created us to be.

5.        To fear not.

In order to achieve these goals, we must agree to certain principles.  We must be:

1.        Willing to work on accepting the Other.

2.        Willing to work toward who we are supposed to be.

3.        Willing to work to end one’s bigotry and prejudice.

4.        Willing to love all God’s children.

5.        Willing to have faith.

There are many things that unite us.  We are the same people and we have the same God.  We are all struggling to understand ourselves, our lives, and our God.  When we at Our House of Abraham come to impasse, we can learn to respect each other’s faith.  We can work toward acceptance and tolerance so our views and faiths do not disrespect the Other, because dysfunction in our house would be disrespecting God.  We will not ask for compromise because compromise means we each lose our faith.  We will build a bridge between faiths.  We welcome you to join us.

(There is no intention to discourage people of other faiths, Hindu, Buddhist to name several, from participating in our work.  We are the People of the Book, and derive our faiths from the Old Testament, the Torah, the New Testament, and the Quran.  We worship one God.  We recognize, however, there are other faiths and people who may want to be a part of Our House of Abraham to search for themselves, their soul, and their spirit, and you are welcome).
